Standard Right Wing Propaganda: Women Have Abortions For Funsies.

Let's get something straight right off the bat: no woman decides to have an abortion because a fetus is "annoying."  Not only is that an ignorant thing to say, but it's also incredibly insulting. And flushing it down a sink?! Really?  Is that supposed to be a metaphor for abortion because, if so, it's vile, misleading, and totally ridiculous.  All liberals know that the correct way to have an abortion is to flush it down a toilet.

One thing I'd really like to point out is that drinking alcohol while pregnant and having an abortion are in two separate wheelhouses.  The former assumes that you are going to give birth to a child and, obviously, consuming alcohol is a bad idea for a multitude of reasons.  The latter assumes that you are not going to give birth because, you know, you aren't having a baby.  Abortion terminates a pregnancy on the spot.  Drinking alcohol when pregnant screws up a person's life for, well, his/her entire life.

But wait, there's more!

This one is just in poor taste (then again, you'd be hard pressed to find something at LiberalLogic101 that isn't).

A madman killed twelve people in Aurora, Colorado.  These people had loved ones, thoughts, memories, experiences.  They had likes and dislikes.  They knew music and love.  A fetus does not know those things.  In fact, it knows nothing at all.

And clearly the person running LiberalLogic101 doesn't either.

Alright, last one.  I promise.

You know what doesn't mention either one?  The New Testament.  Maybe you should check that out sometime and actually put the practices it does preach to good use.

And, uh, you do have the right to own a gun.  Was that ever in dispute?  The difference here is that a gun is not part of the human body.  Again, two different wheelhouses.  It seems like the only way conservatives can get their points across to each other is to mash two completely separate arguments into one semi-coherent cluster-fuck of words and provocative images.

That definitely explains Fox News.

Although, I agree with your first two posts in the blog, I just would like to clarify the last LiberalLogic101.com's photo: Not all Americans have the right to own a gun. I'm a 39 year old 1st Generation American woman. I was misdiagnosed as bipolar years ago. I have had 3 hospitalizations in my life (turns out it wasn't bipolar, it was drug addiction, from which I am now in recovery). BUT - I am NOT allowed to own a firearms BECAUSE I was diagnosed as "mentally ill" at one point. Haven't taken a psych medication in over 3 years, and I still do not have the right to bear arms. I guess the government doesn't want us "crazies" having firearms. Just Christian Radicals who like to blow up abortion clinics, you know?

Sir, I just feel the need to say something. A fetus may not be a grown person who's lived and experienced, but they are still alive. They're humans, they're precious life, and abortion destroys any chance the child has to live and grow and develop as an individual. Abortion being acceptable is based on the ideas that 'the fetus isn't a person yet' and 'it's the mother's choice', yes? Well, I've been raised knowing that all life is precious, and a gift from God no matter the circumstance. I'll bet that if the child had a say in the matter they'd darn well rather live whatever life they could than be killed before they were born. Secondly, the unborn child is not part of the mother's own body. They are their own person, undeveloped, yes, but very much living and separate from the mother. If the woman can't raise her baby, there are other alternatives besides just killing the kid.

You know what's funny? No matter how many times I splatter the words "Anonymous comments will not be posted" all over my blog, people still decide not to give themselves a name*. That tells me two things: 1) You don't even have the balls to attach your name to your opinions, and 2) you can't read.

Here's me saying something back:

Whether or not a mother-to-be would like to get an abortion is not up to anyone but that mother-to-be. Period. It's not up to the government. It's not up to men. And it sure as hell isn't up to "God." Is it the right option? Who's to say? I'm not saying it's the best one but, depending on the circumstances, it very well may be. Who are you or I to judge?

Women have been getting abortions for hundreds of years, and look at us humans - 7 billion strong. I will not argue with you that human life is precious. But it's strange to me that, in most of my conversations with "pro-life" individuals, they condemn abortion in one breath, and then condemn foreign aid or some other nonsense in the next. Is it all human life that's precious or just good ol' Christian-American life?

Don't sit there and act like someone just decides to go and get an abortion one day, or that women use it as a form of birth control. They most certainly do not. It's heartbreaking and painful, but sometimes necessary for reasons that others do not need to know or comprehend.

Personally, I think that abortions should be limited to the first trimester(ish) unless there are other circumstances that arise later but, again, that isn't for me to decide.
