Hate Group Leader Gary Kreep Elected To San Diego Superior Court.

Look at the picture of this man.  I mean really look at it.  Soak it in.  Do some breathing exercises, meditate.  Note the colors, the graphics, the name, the mustache.  Become one with Gary Kreep.  Feel his presence in the world.  When a shiver crawls up your spine, you are ready to proceed.

Mr. Kreep is an anti-government activist that has just been elected to San Diego's Superior Court.  He's also the leader of a hate group (the United States Justice Foundation), an outspoken member of the birther movement, and (according to SPLC) suggested in a 2011 fundraising letter for USJF that Barack Obama is a 'stealth jihadist,' 'Marxist,' and 'strident enemy of America,' who 'is working to destroy our sovereign republic."
"When you put together the puzzle pieces, the picture becomes clear: Barack Obama hates America … and you!" he wrote.

Well, shit.  Now that the puzzle is all in one piece, I totally see it.

He does hate America!

Let me take a step back, though.  Mr. Kreep was just elected to San Diego's Superior Court.  This ninny is a judge, beating out a 27 year deputy district attorney that had "received the county bar association’s highest rating and who was supported by local police unions and sitting judges." (SPLC)

It's a six year position that pays a whopping $180,000 a year.  Of course, he'll have to put aside his leadership of USJF (a rather innocent group name for one so filled with anti-Muslim hate) in order to be a judge on the court.  But what's to stop him from being a total asshole in cases where Muslims are involved?

Here's what the Southern Poverty Law Center's Hatewatch had to say:

As a Superior Court judge, Kreep will no longer be permitted to represent clients as an attorney. He will also be required to abide by California’s Code of Judicial Ethics, which, among other things, notes that “expressions of bias or prejudice by a judge, even outside the judge’s judicial activities, may cast reasonable doubt on the judge’s capacity to act impartially.”

And on the subject of birtherism...

Philip Carrizosa, a spokesperson for the California Administrative Office of the Courts, told Hatewatch that sitting judges may not engage in political activism, except as it pertains to the administration of justice. Asked if challenging the president of the United States’ citizenship would be considered unacceptable political activism, Carrizosa said, “He would have to cease doing that.”

Yes, and I'm sure he'll just "cease doing that" without a problem.  Because the one thing birthers are good at is just shutting the fuck up.

Does every man deserve a chance?  Sure.  In my opinion, Kreep's redemption as a human being flew out the window decades ago.  But democracy has spoken.  Still, a word of advice to the folks of San Diego: keep a close eye on Gary Kreep and any decisions he makes on your Superior Court.

He also looks like someone who hangs out near a school yard offering children free candy and puppies. Just sayin'. And, as much as I hate to see extreme crazies on the court, it is good to see all sides represented.
